The experience of starting a new group activity, especially partner dancing, whilst an exciting prospect, can also be daunting for many. No worries - we pride ourselves at welcoming new people and putting them at ease.
At our venues you will find a team of dancers ready to offer as much help and encouragement as you would like. In the meantime, here are a few points about what to expect from your weekly dance class
There’s no need to bring a partner as during the classes we frequently move people around. This enables everyone to join in and dance with a range of partners (this will be explained each night).
We teach a social, club dancing style, that has no regimented form or patterns, so footwork is kept simple.
We advise all level of dancers to join in with the movement and style ‘warm-up class’ at 7.45pm.
Each time you come you will be taught 3 basic moves linked together to form a short routine. Before you know it, you will be well on your way to becoming an accomplished 8 Beat Fusion dancer!

After about 6-8 weeks you will have covered all of the beginners moves both in the main class (starting at 8pm) and in the reminder sessions (starting at 9pm).
For ladies, the transition from nervous novice to enthusiastic learner, can be relatively short once they allow themselves to relax and be led.
For the men, the transition usually takes longer due to the fact that they need to remember the moves, pick up the rhythm and learn to lead correctly. Relax, be patient and everything will gradually fall into place.
